My favorite wedding post

More than two years after the wedding, the thing that stands out to me most among all of the small details (and posts about those things) was my bouquet.  Learning that making bouquets is really easy was a big stress-reliever, and I was really proud of how everything turned out.

Not only was I pleased with how it turned out on that day, but I've since gone on to make bouquets for the weddings of both of my brothers.  The time spent with each of my sister-in-laws the day before their weddings was truly special.  And my bouquet making skills, as you can see, improved with each.

K wanted her bridesmaids to have very colorful bouquets, so we took all the flowers that looked good from the North Market and Whole Foods to come up with these:

I absolutely adored the bride's bouquet: hydrangea and calla lilies.  Gorgeous!

R wanted garden roses and hypericum berries, and arranged via a mail order supplier to get all of the flowers she needed.  These turned out the best yet.

Absolutely stunning.

Bouquets are an easy thing to spend a lot of money on, but you don't need to.  And the alternatives can be pretty aesthetically pleasing, if I do say so myself.

2009 Weddings: Columbus

Last year, Calvin and I attended 4 weddings of friends and family. I've been meaning to share the pictures for awhile, but only recently have had time.

First up: the wedding of my brother and his lovely wife.

My sister-in-law really liked the pictures that we took at Algebra, and also wanted to be able to sit down and get a bit to eat or drink before the reception started. Cue Jeni's.
For those of you not from Columbus, Ohio, Jeni's ice cream is the best. Now, I know a lot of people say that about their favorite ice cream place, but how many of those places have flavors like goat cheese with figs? Or wildberry lavender?

Anyways, the bridal party stopped in for some ice cream.
Clearly Calvin took this picture, as that's me in the lower right.

There was a slight mishap with a missing family heirloom earring...that was quickly found.

Two other bridesmaids waiting patiently
mmm....
ice cream....
My brother and sister-in-law have this one framed in their house
Waiting in the alley to go into the reception hall.

All pictures were taken by Calvin or I with a small, pocket-sized camera.
